Con motivo de la visita del Dr. Giorgio Buonanno de la Università degli Studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale (Italia), se realizará un nuevo seminario del IMFIA este jueves 26 de setiembre, a las 16 horas.
Descripción:
This seminar will delve into the evolving understanding of airborne transmission, tracing its historical roots and the progress made in recognizing respiratory infections as primarily airborne. We will clarify the concept of airborne transmission, distinguishing between aerosols and droplets, and examine their role in spreading diseases such as COVID19 and influenza. The seminar will also emphasize the urgent need for a paradigm shift in public health strategies, advocating for the adoption of stringent indoor air quality standards to reduce the spread of airborne pathogens. A key focus will be the call for mandatory international and national regulations to enforce better ventilation systems in public buildings, schools, and healthcare settings, ensuring safer environments to mitigate the risks of airborne disease transmission.
